Biography

Brad Scarborough's practice is primarily focused on commercial leasing of office, retail, restaurant and industrial properties. Brad handles all aspects of commercial leasing and has negotiated leases for millions of square feet of office, retail and industrial space. Brad recently completed a 850,000 square foot transaction involving the leasing of two Class A office buildings in the Houston market.

With over 26 years of combined experience as a CPA and an attorney, Brad is able to provide a wealth of experience and practical knowledge to his client's transactions. Brad's real estate clients have consisted of individuals, small and mid-size real estate companies and large publicly-traded REITs.

Brad spent the early years of his legal career in the real estate section of Jackson Walker LLP, where he assisted clients with commercial real estate transactions involving the leasing, management, acquisition and disposition of office, retail, industrial and high-priced residential properties. Brad also served as in-house counsel for Crescent Real Estate Equities, Ltd. where handled drafting of lease documents for over 7 million square feet of the company's Class A office and retail portfolio.

Prior to being admitted to practice law in 1997, Brad worked for the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick where he obtained valuable experience in both the Audit and Tax areas. Brad has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant since 1994.

Representative Matters

Represented various retailers in the negotiation of retail lease agreements with national landlords such as CBL, Westfield, RREEF, GGP, Cousins Properties, KITE Realty, Macerich, Simon and Taubman.
Representation of clients in acquiring and disposing over 10,000,000 square feet of Class A office buildings in Texas, Colorado, Florida and California.
Represented the landlord on a 850,000 square foot lease of Class A office space in Houston, Texas to an international oil and gas exploration and production company.
Represented Falcon Real Estate Investment Co. on a 354,000 square-foot lease agreement with Aker Solutions in the Westchase District of Houston, Texas.
Represented the landlord on its 560,000 square foot lease with BP in the Three WestLake Park and Four WestLake Park buildings in the Energy Corridor of Houston, Texas.
Represented Crescent Real Estate Equities in the negotiation of a 294,000 square-foot lease agreement with Apache Corporation at One Post Oak Central in the Galleria area Houston, Texas.
Represented the joint venture of Crescent Real Estate Equities and GE Pension Trust on a 174,000 square foot lease with Amegy Bank in Five Post Oak Park in the Uptown/West Loop South area of Houston.
